Malden Aquatics has a team of American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors who are available to teach private and group lessons at your home or nearby facility. You are never too young or too old to take swim lessons. Our Instructors are qualified to teach a wide range of swimmers; ranging from children (at least 3 years old) who are entering the water for the first time, to helping adults further build on existing aquatic skills.

Our Water Safety Instructors are trained to provide lessons in: 
*Malden Aquatics' Swim Program 

Malden Aquatics currently has certified specialists trained to teach special needs children.

 

Swim Lessons begin June 11th and end August 25th.

Lesson Schedule: Saturday and Sunday from 9am-12pm

Gold Fish:

Introductory

Aquatic Skills

Participants will be introduced to beginner in-water skills used to build confidence and develop independence.

By the end of this level participants will be able to:

*Safely enter into the water
*Submerge their head
*Blow bubbles (intro to rotary breathing)
*Develop a flutter kick
*Develop scooping arm motions
*Perform back floats
*With assistance - Swim on front,  back, and side using combined arm and leg actions

Sea Turtle:

Primary

Aquatic Skills

Students will use previously learned skills to build endurance while learning introductory strokes.  Students will learn to swim independently in the water without assistance.

By the end of this level participants will be able to:
* Perform rotary breathing in   horizontal position
*Perform a kneeling dive
* Combine skills to develop an introductory front crawl
* Combine skills to develop an introductory back crawl
*Combine skills to develop an introductory elementary backstroke
* Swim the width of the pool on their front independently
* Swim the width of the pool on their back independently

Dolphin:

Stroke

Development 

Participants will use previously learned skills to refine and develop their strokes. Participants will also be introduced to the breast stroke and be able to independently swim on their front and back for 20 yards.

By the end of this level Participants will be able to:

*Tread water using sculling arm motions with different kicks
*Perform a standing dive
*Swim on side using scissors-like kick.
*Perform front crawl independently for 20 yards
*Perform back crawl independently for 20 yards
*Perform elementary backstroke independently for 20 yards
